Sally was an innocent 12 year old... Innocent until she went to the park to meet a lad she'd met on line She told her parents she was going out was just meeting a friend On that fateful August evening her life changed forever Stripped of her innocence Brutally gang raped by a group of 5 young men A month later it was discovered she was pregnant... In circumstances like these ... would you deny a girl an abortion Fiction poem but I have read of events like this happening for real Inspired by poem by Jacqueline r Mendoza 7/4/18

just so my words will show no distortion....I must first say I am COMPLETELY against abortion....but at the same time we all have a CHOICE....and whose right is it to silence another's voice....regardless of how the situation came to be....God Loves All Life, at least that's how it's understood by me....such a sad story and I understand where you are coming from jan....I hope you see my point of view....;)

Jan.. this would be a tragedy of two lives and it's extremely complex and emotional. Rape is such a vicious crime. When done to a minor the guilty should be castrated!

In cases such as these, I think not. This girl would suffer either way, the scars will remain, I am glad it was fiction. It made me go weak in the knee just reading it. Thanks for writing about important heated issues. Not many people have the guts to do that.

Thanks Joseph it is an emotive write and I don't think there is a right or wrong way to deal with the situation it would be down to personal circumstances but I know I couldn't have coped with it at the age of 12 - a baby having a baby born out of violence not love but sadly these things happen:-( hugs Jan xx

'Rational answer:' Too many unknown factors to decide anything here: Views of the girls' parents, grandparents, and older siblings; views of her minister(s)/clergyperson(s), if any; her physical well-being; health of the foetus; socio-economic status/caste; support available any which way (i.e., abortion, adoption, keeping baby). The only proviso to all this is that the government should keep the H out of this decision. It is between the individuals involved and their Maker. Best I can do. :)

Societies dilemma...an unwanted soul should still be loved...and the young mother tendered to...the default is always to love what is horrific and unwanted...otherwise, we become monsters ourselves...great verse Jan...love & light...^WW^

Jan, this is a very hard question in the fact I don't believe in abortion myself. I was adopted so I would go with adoption first. If the girl should keep her baby she would need a lot of tender, loving care and much support. I could not judge her if she or her family chose abortion but think she would have more problems if she did have one.

So many incidents like this do occur.. and it is not fare for a woman no matter what is not given a choice to do with her body as she chooses. For myself abortion is not for me, but it is not my place to tell someone else what to do... They might have good reasons to do what they do,,

Never an easy answer to this one Jan, sadly it happens, some would say the life growing inside her is innocent, others would not agree and say terminate.

- Young girls / women who have become pregnant through rape and thus have been so severely injured - They have been through major traumatic disorders - They need all the support they can get - My concern is not to condemn if they took abortion after a serious rape - Life consists of many dilemmas, but rape is certainly one of the best reasons for taking abortion - THIS happening for REAL !!!!! - hugs //Anne-Lise :(

Hi Jan, You have penned such a sad and horrific story. Although this is a fictional write, cases like is true for so many world wide. And there are pros and cons to the topic of abortion. But a brutal rape crosses the line of if one is for or against it. And we must not judge. Excellent write on a controversial subject - Alexis

Thanks Alexis it is an emotive subject and you would never believe it but I wrote this in a church last Saturday! we were waiting for a flautist to come and do a rehearsal as hubby had set up a P A system for him.
