Abandoned

Beyond the tracks stands an abandoned shack, The bare bones of what was once a home So full of hope and light Standing alone, weathering the storms and unmoving Through the seasons, holding on, Almost as if waiting in vain for somebody to care, Waiting for the one who dares You'd never know by the looks of it today, But this forgotten shelter was once full of joy and life Yet it also holds a history tragic and deep These walls tell a love story, ending in defeat And so this abandoned shack, it reminds me of my heart: Not wanting to give up, though on the verge of collapse Still housing remnants of the ghosts of those Who swore on their souls to never part The ones who found a home in me when I was strong, But wore me out right from the start Then walked away for good, when I began to fall apart
