A View
light is the enemy, we hunger for you
chewing carnivorously at your bony fingers
Pry your grip and let our viper tongue flicker into each avenue
Filled with lack of divinity
Our home the whisper of air
The creak of wood grain
Hidden in plain sight but only when we cannot be seen
No escape
Prisoners of sight and light
Always waiting
All encompassing
So familiar but amplified in your mind
Just beyond the reach
