This reworked pair of limericks dates back several years. Some may not have seen these and the time seems right to think about what we love. This pair definitely describes thrills of our short existence. Which one could bring greater pleasure?

Like heaters with thousands of watts Hot passion burns hearts into knots Instead of this norm To find love that’s warm Form relations with chocolàtes A honeyed and candied sweet taste Entwined under lingerie laced As valentine treat Is the finest eat Lucky tongues have ever embraced

Dear Duke, Your superb limerick poem delves into the delights of love and intimacy, contrasting romantic relationships with the enjoyment of sweet sweets, notably chocolates and candies. It emphasizes the excitement and pleasure of physical and emotional interactions in life, particularly in a romantic setting. You use colorful and sensual language to convey sentiments of comfort, intimacy, and indulgence. Words like "hot passion," "heaters," "honeyed," and "candied" provide rich, vivid imagery that appeals to the senses, allowing the reader to envision and feel the feelings portrayed.

Yes, there is nothing like GOOD chocolate. I just hate the cheap brands people get me like from Walmart.

HEy, I skimmed thru your comments, we used to go to the North Hollywood Library and watch movies such as "Marty" we met Earnest Borgnine before the pandemic, not sure if he is with us any longer. 94 yrs. what a blessing.

Dear duke, after reading this and seeing the picture you’ve used, i just had some chocolates haha. Im trying not to eat chocolates too much now but this limerick did sell chocolates to me! I loved reading you write on a subject that is different to your usual ones, and one that is so very fitting for the mood right now too! Valentines day right around the corner! How stunning and exquisite are your rhymes and flow of words too . What are your plans for valentines day! Wish you a wonderful one. Pleasure reading you today. Sending you light always

Hi IE, we went to see a film at the library this past evening. The film entitled "Touch" was a story about a past romance across cultures and tying up loose ends. Definitely an intriguing plot which revealed different behaviors and how rare true love is. As far as chocolates, I know what you mean. I like dark chocolate, but I can't have too much as it gives me a rapid heart beat--sensitivity to caffeine and similar compounds. You're very kind to complement my poetry and all I can do is send smiles and read some of yours in return!

This is such a passionate pair of limericks, with each line portraying a velveteen glare of flavours and romantic aromas! How smooth and beautiful! Layered with sensual tones yet so eloquent in a very poetic manner, and of course how can one not crave for chocolates after reading this, haha. Perfect for the Valentine theme!! Sending you best wishes and light always, dear Duke ~ keep writing these amazing and delightful limericks!!

Hiya, what a pleasure to hear from you. I have to check out some of your work. Valentines Day is fun and I hope yours is filled with pleasure! Smiles!!!

Enjoyed this excellently written limerick, Duke. Each line is as smooth and fitting as the subject. Will my wife be more satisfied with a low-calorie limerick(yours) than a box of chocolates?

Hi David, I would definitely try the chocolates first! Words are so fleeting and the taste of chocolate can last a few minutes or more. You're very kind so whatever you try will work wonders! Smiles!!

Well, Duke. If your words were not enticing enough, the silk and lace lingerie would make your chocolate treats irresistible. Wondering what flavor their centers might hold.
