They say God won’t put
more on you than you can bare
Sounds like violet vanity
For those NOT in despair
The darkest days in the
Mind of a deranged butterfly
trapped in a nap in a cocoon
Who knew? The caterpillar!
The madness was like liquid
Melting on a maroon mind
During the day and at night
It morphed into a black cloudy curtain
Falling heavy and hot
Breaking eggshells for nerves
Wailing and words muffled
By the trafficking pills prescribed
Tipping the balance is fuchsia
And a kaleidoscope of colors
Of courage despite corruption of faith
A trip to the grave is no escape
But to lay burdens at the foot
Of the cross can save you my love
