A Tiny Yellow Hummingbird Is Caught
A tiny yellow hummingbird appeared to be caught.
In a loop,
Struggling in vain.
Hanging, twirling, spinning.
More spinning.
Finally I ran out there.
Determined to save her.
Only she was no hummingbird.
Merely a yellow leaf caught on the tail of a spider’s thread.
I went back into the house
Watching him struggle,
Enjoying it in every way now.
