A Tiny Heartbeat
Looking into the glass,
Her head lopsided,
Her mind lost in thought.
Gripping the fabric that hugged her,
She sighed.
Staring into darkened eyes,
Deep in thought.
Fingers twisting around a strand of hair absent mindedly,
She reached out and touched the glass.
The figure in front copied her movement,
With a crease between it's eyes.
Those eyes showed weariness and caution.
She looked away as a lump caught in her throat.
Making it hard to breathe.
She glanced back at the sad creature in the glass,
Just as it looked back at her.
Tears welled up in the creatures eyes and slid down it's cheek,
Getting caught in it's hair.
She reached down and placed her palm on her belly,
Fear, worry and pain clouding her mind.
Still staring into those tear filled eyes of the creature,
She tried to wipe away the wetness from her face.
Past the tears and the glassy stare of the figure,
All she could see was anguish and a burning desire to run.
Loss tore at her heart,
As her fingers tightened around herself.
A timid knock forced her to look away from those eyes that were far from alive.
Clutching herself even tighter,
She walked away,
Feeling commited to a crime that was not her's to commit.
It has no chance to live nor breathe.
She had lost before she had even began.
