A Time of Decision
A Time Of Decision

The spot where I stand was determined by choices,
mine, or those made by others, on my behalf.
I’ve never followed a crowd of clamoring voices,
so, let “he was God’s man” be my epitaph.
I can’t retrieve angry words spoken in haste,
nor those, others considered as being token.
But some unspoken words, I’ve allow to waste,
and could have been weightier than those spoken.
In nineteen sixty-eight I became a winner,
I confessed my sins and was forgiven.
I was born again and no longer a sinner,
And because of this one act, I’m now driven.
