A Thanksgiving Prayer

Dear God, on this Thanksgiving Day I want to You my homage pay. But first I must confess my sin, of treating you like a has-been. In years gone by, daily I raised, my voice in thankfulness and praise, for giving me another day, of life to live, to work, and play. These days I’m so preoccupied, with all the things that concern me. I scarcely have the time to think, So, please accept my wistful winks. But since it is Thanksgiving Day, I must make sure I stop and say, Thank you for all you’ve done for me, Despite the way I treated Thee. Help me, dear Lord, my ways to mend., and treat you as my God and friend. To live a life that honors you, By pleasing you in all I do. Please put in me a grateful heart, which thanks you daily at the start. Not only on Thanksgiving Day And that, in such a casual way. To one and all, I wish to say, stop treating God as common clay. Acknowledge Him in all your ways, and He will guide and bless your days.

I agree, David. An attitude of gratitude is needed every day. I believe gratitude opens up one's spirit to God...and the blessings are extensive and plentiful. A wonderful creation. A fav! Sara
