Notes About The Poem

a team apocalypse meme

A nightmare but oh this “great” team
Loves making the suffering scream
There’s no place to hide
While those on this ride
Think they’ll resurrect Hitler’s dream

A most fantastic honest satirical condemnation of the Hitler type super power evil they're trying to do for mercenary reasons. Kudos to this fine fab limerick and parody!! Plz also read and comment my newest poem too

Duke, 👏Trump's the P.T. Barnum of POTUS, he enjoys playing us for fools. There's a sucker born every minute, I fear, describes too many Americans, ha! Good news, things will change for the better in November. Liked. T. C..soupmail~👀😢

Hi there! I replied and thanks for sending me that link. DT is the oligarchs' dream. Th super rich will be spreading all kinds of lies about those of us and our candidates who believe in fairness. Personally, I just support the rule of law. It's much better than having a few very rich people making all the decisions. Get ready for some strange ads and messages. I also like listening to Kentucky governor Andy Beshear since he speaks clearly and makes sense. I don't think we need costal elites and should run a presidential candidate who appeals to a broad spectrum of voters. I can support anyone reasonable. There was a conservative writer (James Q. Wilson) who wrote about 4 things that lead to democracy--Fairness, Self Control, Empathy, Honor. These are all things our current leader lacks. Sending smiles!!

Dear Duke, My kind hearted friend! I know you care about the world so sincerely, and you show that through your limericks. Creative rhymes and flow too! "There’s no place to hide While those on this ride" applies for many things in life. Unfortunately politicians think they are untouchable. 🥹 but they dont realize ~ the world isnt sleeping! Everyones wide awake! So good to see you post! Thank you for sharing Pleasure reading Sending you light always 💫 🌙

IE, I very much appreciate your kind comment. We'll see what happens as this all plays out. A small number of people with deep pockets think they can buy our elections. They plan to flood the internet and media with tons of publicity for their oligarch supporting candidates. We certainly hope that people understand what is at stake and choose those who people stand for fairness and a world that works for everyone. Hope you are doing well and sending a big smile your way!!

Dear Duke, it's been such a long while since I read your absolutely witty and powerful limericks and this one is again no exception! The chaos unfolding there in the turbulence with politicians ruling over nightmares and trying to revive doom ~ sigh, that has become the current state ..."Loves making the suffering scream" although with a layer of humor this hurts in such deep way! There's a very intricate hue of sarcasm that you've showed! It's a pleasure reading your words today, your limericks are forever one of the best dear friend! Hope you've been doing well.. sending you light and best wishes always ~ 💫💫💫✨✨

Thanks Hiya. Just trying to inject some humor and irony into the bad situation facing us. A few very rich and powerful people think that their money gives them the right to control the whole world. The empty hearts they have will never fill, but unfortunately more and more of us suffer dreadfully. For the record, I am doing very well personally. About to have my 49th wedding anniversary and I am blessed to have a wonderful wife. At least for now, my own life seems almost too good to be true. I feel intoxicated on life itself on a personal basis. Meanwhile, we do what we can to try to make the world a better place for everyone. Sending happy thoughts and smiles!!

That’s a real dream team AI has riding horses. More like a nightmare. It’d be a much more appropriate scene if the asses were riding on asses! Great Limerick, Duke. You’re still rolling them out.

Hi Lin. I've been really busy lately, but a pleasure to see a comment from you! Dangerous times for sure although it is fun to try to get AI to make a picture like this one. Although the threat exists from bad greedy leaders, we will always hold on to our own personal sense of accomplishment and joy as poets and associates. Sending you a big smile!!

Duke, my friend, I haven't seen you post on PS in a while. I'm glad to read your wonderful limericks again. This poem paints a picture of dystopian chaos with vivid images and a dark theme. When you put the words "apocalypse" and "team" together, you get an unsettling picture of people working together in the midst of destruction. The poem's rhythmic structure lifts the mood, and the strong reference to history makes you feel strong feelings and think deeply. It's a strong piece improved by the layers of more complex themes.

Thanks SP. We're definitely in a deteriorating situation. If you have a lot of money, times might seem wonderful. However, even the rich will suffer when we destroy the things that keep our planet hospitable. Time will tell. Sending smiles!!
