Then, In rain, Our mouths met, Shared your flavor ... My lips, still moist with your nectarous sweet ... Mixed with your gold tresses and pulpy tongue. I taste that, still, In hours, hushed, And nights ... Cold. ~ 1st Place ~ in the "Tetractys This" Poetry Contest, Charles Messina, Sponsor. ~ 3rd Place ~ in the "Dust Off A Memory" Poetry Contest, Dear Heart, Judge & Sponsor.

Congrats for your win. I am looking down at what i commented the first time and I had loved it then too. For some reason I must have been thinking you wrote it for a contest of Constance but clearly, charles was the sponsor!!

Very kind of you to say so, Brian ... I think that's the key to writing in short form - trying to tell an entire story with just a few words, Haiku especially. Thanks so much, my friend! :-)

Awww ... thank you, dear friend, I so appreciate that, (and I hope you're right!) ... I need to write more SHORT pieces - I have so much trouble limiting my writing to short forms, but when i DO I have so much fun with it, and I know I'd get more reads, cuz a lot of people just WON'T take the time to read longer poems. Working on it! Blessings, Andrea! :-)

That's very sweet of you, Jan - I am so blessed to have known love on such amazing levels, and it's those little snapshots from the past that keep me going. I found TWO soul mates, (and lost them, due to stupidity), and yet I believe I will find another ... before this journey is through. Blessings, friend! :-)

Funny, (ironic), that it's those little, brief moments that we remember, not so much the big ones, at least when it comes to the truly sweet moments. I'm pleased you liked this, Mo ... I know it's a little racy, but I like to think I keep things tasteful, (oh, I walked right into that pun, lol - not intended). Thank you, Dear Poet! <3
