The moon and stars are lost to the darkness behind prodigious banks of purple clouds. A lightning fork, matching Neptune's trident, clears the busy streets, dispersing the crowds. Brisk breezes tussle the tops of the trees, branches bending between lightning flashes. And a downpour of disjointed droplets form sticky drops that cling to eyelashes. Shadows merge within liquid ebony until Thor's hammer forges sparks anew. Where lightning's jagged eye illuminates the dark, its fiery gaze burns its way through. And with Natures magical artistry, thunderstorms depict a surreal dream. Where lightning's hypnotic flashes ignite charcoal clouds, and the wind's wailing banshees scream.

Your outstanding imagery captivates Emile! I loved your reference to Neptune which is what I also imagine when I see lightening. Congratulations on being on this short winner's list. This is a top winner for me! : )

congratulations, Emile. Your expressive way with words shines here, in particular I like the jagged eye of lightning and the slow motion/rising cream. Great imagery you bring to mind.
