A Sorry Walk-Away

Leaving everything behind is a sorry walk-away from tears... refusing to come to grips and make up; yesterday we drank from the same cup, sharing the thrills of the days beyond... making us leap in a free world! A sorry walk-away never heals a wound of pain; if that heart gives up on love...what would it gain? In that piano bar, a table will be empty, friends will wonder what has happened to us; they saw us glowing in the candlelight and knew we were madly in love with the night, a night we chose to share many delights... didn't our kisses draw us closer to fantasy? A sorry walk-away never heals the wound of pain; if that hearts gives up on love...what would it gain? It's too selfish to leave all behind as if we never breathed and existed; should I burn every picture that told a story? I can destroy any of them, even if I wanted! The trail you leave in your goodbye is the misery of all the rainy days to come, I will look for sunshine through the streets of memory and happy sound! A sorry walk-away never heals the wound of pain; if that heart gives up on love...what would it gain? One look of pity can and will change your feelings of anger towards me, forgiving who wounded you with many hurtful words; memories forever remain, no strongest wind can ever scatter their ashes thrown into the roaring sea! We must discover other shores! It's selfish to leave all behind, making believe nothing ever happened; I'll prove myself to you: it's my last chance to make you proud! A sorry walk-away never heals the wound of pain; if that heart gives up on love...what would it gain? Entered in Silent One contest, " Walking Away " Written on 12/ 15/ 2015
