An English sonnet with 10 syllables per line.

Written for Miranda Hawley's, 'What to search for poetry contest.'

To write a maximum 14 line poem using the exact term, 'I care I search.'

What words did you use to make someone smile? Did you reach out to change a stranger’s day? The smallest gesture makes it all worthwhile, an act of kindness soothes tired tears away.  Compassion's inborn into humankind.  You can be a tower that shelters pain. Empathy helps a confused state of mind.  Wipes away doubts, so sadness won't remain. When bullies mock those seen as different, it leads to anguish and feeling broken. Educate those who's heart's are ignorant. I care I search for those left forsaken.   When souls fall give them the power to rise.  Paint a masterpiece with strokes that are wise.

Oh, hmmm, I already added it sometime in the past, it was 'Previously Added' lol. My older age is showing! Well, as if I've read it for the first time, I love it just as much :)

A Silent Opus A poem that unfortunately only goes and should be used to prove the point Where and how on earth have we gone and gotten so far wrong When empathy and compassion have to be sought rather than found and to be expected and taken for granted

AH HA a poet knight. I used to unmitakely take bullies to task and unmask their nasty ways. Give them free publicity and then shine them on. It was best when I was a gorgeous young thing. Now I fear its just an older women's "karen rantings". So I have to play the "cool kid ya wanna be in with". ( its so boring). Love this poem.

Paint a masterpiece with strokes that are wise. As you have done here with this caring poem, Silent One. There's so much we can do on a daily basis that would help heal much of the pain we are surrounded by. Thank you for encouraging us to act that other can make it through their day. A FAV for my list, dear friend. Good luck in the contest! A poet friend in Texas, Bill

SO, your opening line drew me into your wisdom and elegant perceptions and carefully chosen words on the choices we make to either create an avalanche of love that changes hearts or be a destructive force that tears down the people we encounter. This is an eloquent challenge to be bridges of love and compassion. Thank you for this poignant poem especially at this time in history! Congratulations! Blessings to you!

This sonnet is so precious and is definitely going in my FAVs, Silent one. You always weave such eloquent images along with emotional sentiments that touch the reader's heart, truly! As it's said, we don't know how a person is suffering in the background and thus, small acts of kindness can atleast wipe tears off and bring smile even if for a moment.. Materialistic things hold no importance in front of kindness and empathy.. And the joy they can bring! I can deeply connect with this poem a lot

I've seen your compassion, seen your kindness, seen the way you've made people smile. S1 when God handed out his most important gift, empathy. I think he favored you with the most, because he knew how difficult your journey would be..Good on you my lovely bestie. You're doing an awesome job.. ,

"I care I search for those left forsaken." A beautiful sonnet emphasizing the one quality- compassion, that can be placed next to love. Only a loving heart can house compassion, both being complementary. These are the two qualities I value most in my life. When we think of the forsaken, we must know that our little problems are nothing. Our kind words and little acts of kindness can wipe away another's tears. A soul touching poem dear Silent One.

a delightful poem, Silent One! Your words struck a chord with me, for I, too, believe that compassion is inborn. I see it in small children who are yet untarnished or hurt. The 2d verse was truly meaningful for me...the word are tenants for being compassionate. I saw bullies when I was teaching and personally encountered them in the workplace. I believe bullies are frightened people who project their fear onto others in the form of harsh words and violent actions. Enough psychology. Splendid!

'When bullies mock those seen as different..... it leads to anguish and feelings broken..... Educate those who;s hearts are ignorant '. They need kindness and compassion everyone should practice, love thy neighbor as yourself, but do we all, if we all search our hearts are we true to ourselves. I Have noticed that women, men and sadly children who are for example confined to a wheelchair, are never visibly happy, they know what others think and say. A lovely poem my friend truly compassionate and sensitive. Hugs and blessings Jennifer
