lol this was a fun read, Jerrold. And very factual according to my thinking, too. Sonnet... form of romance. Limerick? No chance to be that way with its usual bawdy or fun message.

Thank you! For symmetry, I then composed "The Sonnet's Lament to the Limerick", which got me started on sonnets. What sonnets and limericks have in common is that, while somewhat stilted, you know when you're done. Which isn't true of more fluid formats.
