A Soldier's Daughter
There once was a girl with pale blond hair.
She went with her family one day to a fair.
They played lots of games and ate lots of food.
But none of this seemed to brighten the child's mood.
So they went to the park and swung for a while.
Her parents silently wishing to see their little girl smile.
But deep inside she still felt sad.
For she knew something terrible about her dad.
Tomorrow her dad would be going far far away.
To a place that's fighting nearly everyday.
She knows her dad is a very strong man.
Still she fears she'll never see him again.
The years go by and she grows older.
Living each day the daughter of a fallen soldier.
There once was a woman with pale blond hair.
Who found out too early that life doesn't always play fair.
