A Slight Delay
I patiently wait in my seat for the plane to get clearance,
Hoping that my life isn’t delayed for another hour.
I feel a little uneasy and sense that my appearance
May upset the others while in this little trap of ours.
I put up my feet and they bring me a little ice.
It’s awfully hot in here without the air conditioning.
The man sitting next to me turns out to be very nice.
He works for the airline and will tell them everything.
Another hour goes by before we finally leave.
Now I can relax and enjoy the flight.
Patience is a virtue and I truly believe
That to fret about the little things won’t make it right.
