A Slice of Derring-Do
Tonight feels just right
though the moon is uptight
Still the stars do shine bright
There's plenty of light
And perhaps way out there
roams a big grizzly bear
a wily fox on the prowl
or a macabre screech-owl...
No, I tell myself, do not be afraid
only cowards mistakes haven't made
I crumple up my paper, put down my pen
sneak under the covers ~ fast asleep before ten!
