A Sinner's Prayer
Dear father,
Make me new
Mold me, shape me, make me into what you wish
Help me to rid myself of the profanities and temptations that wrack my soul.
I fear not making it to the promised land
Never to stand by the side of fallen family.
I pray as I stand under the steaming, streaming water
I beg to be made anew
I ask for forgiveness of all the wrongs.
Help me to make all the wrongs right
And all the sins pure once more
Make me new.
Make me how you wish to see me
Make me to be your servant and sister
Holy son and father make me as you like
Help me to be made anew.
Help me dear son and father.
If not famous or a poet or teacher
Make me in your likeness and help me to stay pure.
Help me to do what you wish for me to do
Help me to feel your guiding hands leading me down the path of light
Help me to see the temptations and not to fall into them
Help me to do what is right.
Help me help the misguided as some have done for me
I beg of you to help me see the world and people how you see them
I pray that I may one day again see the light.
I, a sinner, kneel before you praying, asking, begging, to be whole and new.
Amen
