A Single Headlight

she looks broken
lopsided, uneven, off
we look at each other
there are shadows
an eerie feeling on a country road

a motorcycle?
a car?
truck?
alien spaceship?
should we stop? I ask my husband
as we get a bit closer.
he shakes his head no

she looks spooky
in the dark
a single headlight
switched off now
we both feel there is something ominous
about this lopsided, uneven, pick-up truck
on this deserted country road.

Thank you Ilene. It was pure fiction.

Hmmm...you never know. But, I was wondering what were you all doing out on a "deserted country road" "in the dark?"
