Under An Avalanche

This winter's been one big dump of snow Will it ever stop or even just slow down The neighborhood's come together So we can all get out from under We're struggling bundled in our parkas Giving our shovels quite the workout We're putting them to the test Hardly giving them a bit of rest Digging pushing throwing scraping All while dreaming in prismacolor Picturing a bright summer day Smells of barbecue at our block party Today's first order of the day Get our shovels to scrape this snow away AP: Honorable Mention 2020 Submitted on February 28, 2019 for contest A SCRAPING OF SHOVELS sponsored by JOHN LAWLESS

It's nice to dream of summer days to ease the burden of dumping snow. Well penned.

Someone's got to do it but, I never thought of writing about it...was always too tired afterwards. Good pen.

I love how you attacked this challenge. GERAT poem you made of it. My mom is in Iowa and I hear it's just horrible there. Worst winter she has seen in a really long time. Utah is not bad. Thank god.
