A Rose Before the Fall

A ROSE BEFORE THE FALL
With its velvety petals of a burgundy hue
A warm inviting scent reminds me of you
Standing eager in its glory for the sun day
A gentle breeze gives it I said "Hello" sway
There was richness to it that is far beyond
An air of subtle mystery it forever donned
A rose of substance - it is beyond compare
As autumn befalls - it is still standing there
Not a rose to be plucked - its glory is for all
With its faded beauty a rose before the fall

This picture was a cut and paste from a larger picture of a garden of roses. I picked it, because by itself it looked so captivating...
