A Ripple of Kindness
What does it cost to be kind? Absolutely nothing! When, out of the goodness of one’s heart, a kind word is spoken or a kind deed is undertaken, the ultimate reward is in the word or deed itself. And, amazingly, there is no limit to the amount of kindness any one person can generate and share with family, friends, or even complete strangers. What is the source of kindness? A loving heart, I believe. The best example is that of Jesus, of course, who willing gave his own life to rescue humanity from the throes of evil. What are the results of kindness? We can never know all the far-reaching effects of a single act of kindness. Like a small pebble thrown into a lake causing a rippling effect that reaches a distant shore, a simple act of kindness continues to reverberate forward, outward, and beyond the hearts and minds of all who are impacted by it.
