A Quiet Day

A quiet day is Christmas, When many take a break From working, shopping, stressing; Not relaxing’s a mistake. Just hanging ‘round the house is great Or visiting with friends. No matter if you celebrate, You reap the dividends. The leading-up-to frenzy’s gone; The gifts have been exchanged And plans for year-end parties Have been settled and arranged. I live within the city, Where quiet’s not the norm, But on this day I like to watch My neighborhood transform.

Isn't that nice... when all the busy stuff has been done and you can just relax with friends. I could breathe a big sigh of relief after reading this one! Well done Ilene!! Best wishes, Keith

I like the line "No matter if you celebrate". I guess we're all touched in some way by the holiday.

May your heart be filled through out the year. With warmth and love and Christmas cheer. And when three months just disappear. Go down with some friends and have you a beer. Merry Christmas ilene. Hope somehow your poems can be retrieved.
