A Prayer For Mercy
Thy life, once filled with laughter and with love,
now is only fated to be covered in regret,
for, when evil finds entrance to a heart, soon, will prove,
it disconnects the soul from all the kindness it has met,
evil teases you, and taunts, with lust and pride,
against thy will, you act with thoughtlessness and greed,
until the deal is done, and the devil's at your side,
you are lost, while I am left to mourn thy selfish deed,
and so, I pray for thy misguided soul, in truth,
that God may grant the mercy only he can give,
that he may look upon thy misspent youth,
and, at that time, find thy soul, and bless it with reprieve.
