A Poet's Truth

Oh, who wouldn't be loved by a woman like you, damn the fee! But take an honest look at who you are, and ponder, "who is he?" Just consider what eyes of a man can't unsee! Though each flaw of a diamond's compressed, worth is clear. And the gold of your setting irrelevant, who is your peer? Will you accept the offered praise and know or not if he's sincere? Does love's presence bring joy and not fear? Do you 'feel' more alive? And if temptations change the dream, will gentle parting still arrive? Does the other's soul's path have same right to survive? How does love learn to trust when our LOVE comes and goes? It all starts as a gift, and we know that from head to our toes. But love that's real can't have a brand; if someone's hurt, suspect egos!
