A Poet's Shadow

bloodstained ebony tears, draining d o w n her cheeks and reminiscing in fears- captured by her essence she longed for nightmares, and into the darkness she travels for years. no pain could subside her reasons to hide, for she knew not of victory nor someone to confide- she l i n g e r e d in solitude as the world had lied, and within each deep breath, her sanity cried. a lost butterfly flutters in deep creation, bringing her an infinite craving s e n s a t i o n- she knows not of kindness or joyful elation, yet needs redemption for her condemnation. crimson eyes lost in each thought, nothing she took could ever be b o u g h t- no sign could be given just a black smile sought, and in the grimace of light her innocence fought. in each moment, she weeps and mourns, for every ounce of her soul is f o r l o r n- her mother’s lost womb is the reason she was born, and led a life of torment and scorn. in A POET'S SHADOW, she’s no longer a verse, just a saddened damsel under a spellbound curse- she drowns in woe as her frowns i m m e r s e, she thought she was good, but ended up worse. bloodstained memories, seeing things nobody sees- she begs with apologies, and dies within… an ebony disease.
