*“As o`ver the stormy sea of human Life We sail, until our anchor`d spirits rest in the far haven of Eternity.” Robert Montgomery.” ************************************************************** A Plea to the Lord Shuddering with ripples of fear On the sea, my sailboat I steer In the grim darkness of the night, O Lord, do shed on me your light; Trapped in a squally, stormy sea* All I seek is but a safe lea To anchor my ship within sight, O Lord, do shed on me your light; Gripped I am with streams of despair With not a folk at me to care Not a soul to abet my fright, O Lord, do shed on me your light; My boat is rocked by the rough waves, To reach the port, I need be brave, None but the Lord can eye my plight, O Lord, do shed on me your light; The wild winds have worn out my sails, Life for me is of no avail, My broken oars carry no might, O Lord, do shed on me your light; What lies beyond the stormy sea I can neither decrypt, nor see I pray that my path He ignites, O Lord, do shed on me your light; Every stormy sea has a shore, I pray that He steers me ashore And goads me to the path that i`s right, O Lord, do shed on me your light; To Him I make a humble plea From this trauma to set me free, My faith in Him is ever bright, O Lord, do shed on me your light.
