A Place of Zen
find
your favorite spot;
a place of zen.
make yourself comfortable
s e p e r a t e your mind
from life's challenges,
from negative stress,
from intrusive thoughts.
suspend all your woes.
breathe out toxic feelings.
fully surrender to tranquility.
be in harmony with nature,
be still in mind and body.
scan the world around you,
then gently close your eyes.
as your thoughts start to wander,
imagine yourself lounging
at an imaginary beach,
facing a restless sea.
now, sit silently and listen...
to the seagulls
to the ebb and flow of the tides,
to the sound of your breath;
deeply taking the moist sea air
into your lungs
and slowly exhale them.
make the most
of your idle time
in your place of
zen.
