A Pillar of Strength
when I look at you —
I see a pillar of strength
who's toils and tribes are hidden
like the deepest of dark secrets
destroy you? you won't allow it
know matter what — you stand strong
with shoulders broad — taking on the world
time and time again
with feet planted...back against the wall
sometimes reeling— but you never fall
a man's —man — standing up to adversity
you've earned your master's from hard knocks university
the world has shown you no mercy
still— you rise to every conflict
prepared to do battle
spirit sometimes shaken—but never rattled
with fist of iron
and heart of gold
the troubles you've endured
will never be told
cause although life's journey has been a rough ride
you've got your pride
a spiritual man
who will always stand—BOLD
through it all...
