As shifting shadows sully silver skies, lightning flashes comb tangled locks of rain. And thunder's echoing intensifies, rumbling over and over again. A ghostly wailing haunts a dimpled lake pummeled by rain; a loon calls for its mate. The treetops tremble, and their branches break as swirling winds wildly accelerate. Trillions of drops plummet in a downpour, and soon, muddy puddles begin to form. Waves tethered to the wind pummel the shore, flung by the ferocity of the storm. Painting outside the lines, clouds carry on smearing charcoal grays across cobalt blue. Each thunderstorm is a phenomenon, followed by a feeling of déjà vu.
