A Parody of Fiddler on the Roof

If I were a famous poet
Ya ba dibba dibba dibba dibba dibba dibba dum
All day long, I'd write a biddy biddy bum
If I were a famous man!
I wouldn't have to rhyme hard
Ya ba dibba dibba dibba dibba dibba dibba dum
If I were a biddy biddy famous yidle-diddle-didle-didle poet
I'd write an excellent epic full of great adventures that thrill the world,
And see the book reprinted several times
Some would be hard-bound and some just plain and cheap.
And sure I'd be famous and rich.
And I'll be a wealthy poet.
But the best part is that I'll win an Oscar
Ya ba dibba dibba dibba dibba dibba dibba dum
That's my greatest wish of all.

Alas…I’m not a poet at all.

Not to be sung :)

But I think singing it would be fabulous. I like this crazy poem. The downside is, I think those famous poets became known after you-know-what. You are great at poetry now, so don't worry.

Hi Victor, one of my favorite songs of all time. Thank you for referring me to your poem regarding my poem. I see what you mean from a different perspective!Unlike Tevya, I do not dream of being a great poet or having my name on a book I know that many have the dream. Not I. Doesn’t matter, I love the parody anyway. And I do like my poetry.! Pangie xx

Love that movie. Yeah, none of us here are likely to ever be famous, but that's probably a good thing. Fame tends to destroy otherwise good people

Reciprocity in rare form and in its early staging as a contagent performer, jolly good for us all if there'd be no cure. Nice job Victor ;)

"If I were a famous man! I wouldn't have to rhyme hard" this is really funny, I'm enjoying this parody so much. I'd seen Fiddler On The Roof yearly a Laemmle special. Clever and original! xo
