A Pair of Shoes

Sturdy striding shoes
You searched for resplendent hues
Among common folk
Vincent, did you know
That the kingdom of heaven
Flowed from your paintbrush?

Based on the painting "A Pair of Shoes" - Written for Abe Lopez's "Van Gogh's Van Goghs"
contest

I think a lot of people would like to ask him that question. I don't think he knew though. I really like that you put a question in your choka. I've never seen that before. It flows nicely. Congratulations on placing in the contest!

What a lovely interpretation of Van Gogh's painting. He is one of my favorite artists and I love the way he used color in "resplendent hues." I think he died not realizing how much his work would be valued posthumously. Sad, isn't it? Thanks for sharing this lovely poem. Love, Carolyn
