A New Love Valve For My Heart

I need a new valve
In this little heart of mine
I need a sturdy one
That only lets enough love out
As the amount of love coming in

The valve I have is faulty
For even when love comes in a trickle
It lets out a strong surge of love 
And my little heart gets depleted
Of life giving love 
Leading to....
Heart attacks!
Yes, I suffer heart attacks
That are painful and frightening
The after effects of discomfort
Last such a LONG time
And I wonder….
Will the next one be fatal?

I need a new valve
I MUST get a new valve
Right away!
Before it’s too late!
Or perhaps…..
Perhaps…
I need a new heart?

I think your Heart is intact my dear, the thing about love is the more we give the more human we become. It certainly has added to your poetic voice.
