A Muse, Or I Was Just Thinking

A couple of days ago, something of interest occurred to me. At this point, I think that I am musing and thinking out loud. So please pardon my side-venture, this detour into what's going on inside of me. At my worst, I have been inhaling bitter news of the variety that sorrows the soul and breaks the heart. Of the variety that must be processed and instilled with a sense of reassurance and hope, and thereafter, redirected to fretted souls. But methinks that by God's grace, I have been exhaling through poetry and prose some good news about the God who allows all things to work together for the good of those who love him. At the same time, I am very much aware that God loves everyone whether or not they love Him. For many of us, we were born for times such as these, even as Esther's* cousin said to her, "Who knows but that you have come into the kingdom for such a time as this?" Anyway, I was just thinking that by this time last year I had written at least 10 Easter themes. This year, it seems that Easter came early; or was it I who was late? I surely had the Resurrected One on my mind, but my pen seems to have taken me in a different direction. I am certain that the coronavirus occupied much writing space because leading up to Easter, I wrote some 9 themes relating to the virus. I love the inspiration that seems to come with each season, especially Easter, but what appears to be a virus season has obviously been heavily on my mind. Back to Esther. I tell you, the thought of Esther brightens up my entire outlook each time that I am faced with some vast task that is so much bigger than myself. This coronavirus for example. There are thousands of Esthers in our world today who don't realize who they are and how much everyone's survival is dependent upon them. As a result, there have to be some 'Esther cousins' who recognize the times and the troubles who find a way to enlighten Esther about her 'special role' in the survival of her people. In our case today, the people are the entire human race, and you and I are the Esthers and Mordecai's. May God who is rich in compassion and mercy use each of us to be His hand extended, reaching out to a world under siege. 41220*Bible, Esther 2:15,4:14 #99 of top 100 poems during the last month poetrysoup@poetrysoup.com
