A Most Mammorable Birthday

My mammogram is due today
Twill be mammorable, I’ll say
Both boobies will hurty,
When squashed at 1.30,
Oh bother it’s on my birthday!


I’ll stand at the booby machine,
It clamps me, oh boy it’s so mean,
They’ll check for breast cancer
Scans provide the answer,
Then birthday lunch in the canteen.

Yes the procedure is far from pleasant but as I am prone to lumps and we have breast cancer on my mum's side of the family it is something i know I must endure and I agree it does save lives:-) hugs jan xx

when i had a lump I had 11 mammograms in a day you can imagine what that was like!:-) hugs Jan xx

oh wow, it's your birthday. So sorry I forgot, Jan. BIG happy birthday to you. I hope all went well with the test. I do not do mammograms anymore. Instead I do thermagrams, completely non-invasive. Of course, it's alternative and not supported by my government, so I have to pay it from my own pocket. GREAT limerick.

I would love to have a thermogram but they don't do them here, so its clamp in the machine.. but i did get a poem out of it lol:-) hugs jan xx

The letter only came through on Thursday , hubby said to alter it but they have such a backlog they are working weekends... and it definitely is a mammorable birthday:-) hugs Jan xx

it was poetic licence lol we are in lockdown so no cafes are open lol. i had tea and cakes when i got home (I wrote the poem last night wasnt sure if the cafe would be open, it wasnt lol) hugs jan xx

I had to have 11 mammograms when I had a lump... believe me it hurts!!! Only 4 mammogramms this time so I'm hoping all is well:-) A little poetic licence no canteen... the hospital was like a ghost town becuase of the lock down regime there was no cafe open so I had tea and cakes at home... we dropped shopping to our friend and her lovely husband had made me a gorgeous cake and I also had an apple turnover... well it is my birthday lol:-) hugs jan xx
