As twilight sets the scene, dusk readies night,
etching flocks of geese on a crimson sky.
And placid waves send a ribbon of light
shimmering across the breadth of a sigh.
Darkness detects lovers in the shadow
tangled in love's strings, like marionettes.
And the profiles of a girl and her beau
take form in the essence of silhouettes.
Soulmates engaged in a passionate kiss
are oblivious to the sands of time.
And lost between euphoria and bliss,
experience the meaning of sublime.
Framed by the aura of a sanguine sun,
two shadows mingle, then merge into one.
