A Lost Soul
He slowly released small puffs of hot air
over the edge of the universe
hoping to stare at nothing long enough to care
While making wishes in yesterday's dust today
He waited for tomorrow's tug
marching in an invisible human parade
Between where he'd been and what's ahead
He was living fast all over the place
burdened with a terrified heart full of dread
