Even the smallest ants cast long shadows While carrying the weight of a large chunk Inching along with food that seems shallow Even the smallest ants cast long shadows Weighted down and used like a wheelbarrow Constant loads has its spirit drawn and shrunk Even the smallest ants cast long shadows While carrying the weight of a large chunk Sponsor: Scott Thirtyseven Contest: Even The Smallest Ants Cast Long Shadows Written: January 17, 2015

I was hoping to present a little more fanfare, but while the Twitter looks to have its head turned my way, here goes. "Tweets away".

Even better with pictures. Just wish that TPS would let us see the pics while judging. Congrats on a well deserved equal second. I'm going to spend the next week working on my Twitter profile, with a view to tweeting links on about the 1st of March.

Nice one Sara. It's simply amazing what an Ant can carry above and beyond it's own weight. Love this little piece, James :)

O so well written so enjoyable. I think this could be one of the best model poems for children. You have used the line'Even the smallest ants cast long shadows' three times in this small poem. It has helped to heighten the intensity of the great message ( in simple words)Good luck. It must be in the topper's list.God bless you Sara.>>>rajat

We can learn a lot from your poem and the ant. I like how the Triolet form repeats and reminds us of what can be done.

Aren't they the most interesting creatures? I love their determination. No matter how many times you put obstacles in their way, they will continue on. I found your poem delightful Sara. A wonderful Triolet entry! Best of luck in the contest.
