The Sad Truth of life’s quiet desperation

Mothers, fathers, and their children,
seldom share the exact same beliefs
No matter what their religion might be,
proving a child's relationship with their god
is no different than with a parent, odd

A youth’s peace of mind, his longing
for his place, a sense of belonging
The road is long, painful, and circuitous
A troubled childhood, school bullies, plague us

Dubious religious sects, false, he is their prey
Unscrupulous mental health professionals,
make the journey seem futile and tear him apart
Finding wisdom, purpose, and sense of belonging
are finally attained from lessons learned and taken to heart.

Trials and travails that most will be able to understand and take to heart, very wise, Anaya

My learning was from mentors who knew about life in deep ways. Dont know how I found them! But I had a longing to learn, not accept things. My heart led me into both good and bad places. Wisdom? Philosophy, willingness to learn. To be a contributor to life, not to star in it. Giving always better than receiving..a great share in this, Pangie

Thank you for commenting on a serious subject, Pangie. Such a colorful life you have... All I ever wanted was a cameo role, a brief walk on! ;)

Poignant Anaya . So much insight and wisdom as if you have already lived many lifetimes .Dark and light belong to the same circle as do joy and pain . Lessons learned from both . Susan :)

Susan, a belated thank you for your comment. Lifes moods jubilant and plaintiff, haunting and exuberant, all the shades life has to offer!

So many lessons can be learned by the good ones and the bad ideas that come our way.

Knowledge gained through experiencing life alone can ultimately benefit us . What we get from others is just partial knowledge ! Wisely said Anaya !

Everyone is limited by the borders of their own mind; life's lessons ("all knowledge is useless until it is applied") stretch horizons! Nice write! Aloha!

An offshoot to Japanese Buddhism--Nam Myoho Renge Kyo, came to Hollywood, had many adherences! I heard of people who chanted for cocaine, sex. No moral compass!
