Let me tell you a story…….. Nothing new under the sun really. Happened many times. Autumn flourished and Christmas was near. Hark, the bells tolled. The womanizer discovered love. Too late. For now she died much too quick. Friends rally round. Especially Lisa, his illegitimate daughter. All in vain. For now his love is dead. A year passed. He stood near a window as fluffy snow fell gently. He looked at that set of seashells, An ivory box and inside his old watch which she gave him as mementos. Outside raucous seagulls flew, a harbinger of further devastating storms. Yet the worst tempest was in his heart. Tears fell profusely. But time flies. Rapturous Spring is in full swing. Tranquillity reigns in his heart. All the family drift On the boat on the languid lake. Lisa happy to be with her father, And his new wife. He holds his own child with care Will it be the end of his womanizing? A white swan glides near. Euphoric tranquillity reigns. 16 April 2022 Form N - Narrative - New Poems Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Constance La France Theme: Life

I see attached hearts much too often mistaken for love! Man will have his addiction to women over and over again. A wolf on his amorous adventures has fallen and is lucky in love. Seems tranquil but karma has its way! Put in their hearts a desire to know Him and to seek truth and tranquility will abide. Congratulations! To the Victors go the spoils!

A womanizer…an illegitimate daughter (how sad to bear that name), and a second chance!

Is there ever a womanizer turn to be good.. possibly for the children , but never a wife unless she doesn't care.

Once a womanizer always a womanizer unless he gets so old it can't happen any more. I enjoyed reading this one today. Thanks for the visit to my page. Sara

well-done Victor, as if you were there! Narrative poem of merit. I liked the sad lines, too, as in: "Yet the worst tempest was in his heart." Is it over? (Happy and Blessed Resurrection Sunday in Jesus; name)

I really like how poetic you made your narrative. I was expecting a true story though!!! I guess it was not in her rules. Gotta check her contest out again!

The story has a happy ending .... the womanizer turning into a responsible father to his daughter and a loving partner to his wife, now enjoying a cruise over the languid lake with a heart placid as the silent waters.... Best of luck in the contest!

I liked the swan symbolism in the last couple of lines : grace, beauty, love, trust, and loyalty. Your protagonist found them all....Delice
