A Lesson in Wit and Humor

Written: February 23, 2024 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If there are idiots in the room Said the teacher, sarcasm in full bloom, Silence stretched along, Then a freshman stood strong, To join you, sir, I'll hold elbow room. The students all giggled and cheered, As the freshman wit became premiered With a smirk on his face, He put him in his place, A lesson in humor the class revered. Amid a silent classroom, A freshman broke through the gloom, With a clever reply, He caught everyone's eye, A lesson in wit that made them all bloom. The teacher, with a sneer on his face, Asked the freshman to state his case, Why not deem you a fool? The kid said no hint school. But hate to see you standing with no grace. The class erupted in laughter and glee, As the freshman words set them all free, From the tension and stress, Of the classroom's duress, A lesson in wit that brought harmony.

What a deep and fun write this is which also leaves a lesson and an impression worth pondering about! but whats important is we teach our children, teachers doctors or whatever their title is doesnt give them any authority to humiliate or ridicule another. One must always remember to be kind and gentle! Iv seen so many rude teachers in the past. A lesson in harmony and humor would set all free and is worth one appreciating! But with respect. Pleasure reading your powerful limerick! Fun and cool

Your limericks are a charming portrayal of wit, humour, and camaraderie in the classroom. It celebrates the power of laughter to bridge divides and bring people together, reminding us of the importance of finding moments of levity and joy in the midst of everyday life.

SP, I get the feeling that was you in the classroom setting everyone free. There are many forms of bullying and methods to deal with it. This is a wonderful story.

Teacher must have either been Gen X or a Boomer, because of the few teachers that are Gen Z (yes, they are old enough to be in the work place and some of them now teach) would never dream of doing that to or with a class. However, I am Gen X and I think that teacher had an amazing lesson for the class.

outstandingly witty and creative, dear Sotto. I'm impressed with your imagination with both this and your other Limerick. I learned quickly as a teacher that sometimes humor is helpful--releases stress and does create a sort of harmonic bond between teacher and students. I liked this...am faving. Have a splendid evening, your poetess friend in Texas, Sara
