A Leaving

What should we name the death of family members or close friends?
These are not mere departures like a vacation or extended trip; as we know we will see them again.
These are heartbreaking and gut wrenching, with all loss of contact. They are no longer in our life. The name to best describe it is A Leaving.

A Leaving

When she died, the quiet of it all
As machines went silent
Taking a last loving look
While weeping bitter tears
Contemplating the beauty of her life well lived
Always to remain in memory
Missing and grieving her for countless years
Yet, finding no comfort.

I am very sad for you Warren - yes we lose our loved ones, their physical absence is intolerable, we must therefore believe that we shall be reunited as pure souls in the Kingdom of Heaven. I know that if we have lived a good life on earth we shall be re-united! I sometimes do some soul searching and wonder If I fit into this category, I pray I do. God Bless Warren, Jennifer

Heartbroken and gut-wrenching. This is exactly the feeling at the loss of a loved one. You have captured so well the aftermath of death. All goes quiet and we grieve forevermore. Well done, Warren. My best. Deb
