A Jumping Off Place
I cannot remember the last time I saw a blueprint.
Wait!
It was thirteen years ago
When we built our third house
And somehow again neglected to kill each other.
Weird for two people who cannot agree on a TV show.
We changed the plans daily sometimes.
The builder looked like he was going to cry
When I made him tear out an entire wall and move it
so we could get a small table into the kitchen.
My husband had moved it the additional three feet
three days earlier, so his office would be bigger.
My husband and I both consider a blue print
merely a jumping off place.
