A Japanese Autumn

Risshuu The first leaf drops down Leaving all the trees stripped bare Modesty removed Shukki your Breath hangs in clouds Word shaped clouds just float away On the morning air Shuushoku Leaves are summers tears Each one a golden goodbye To summers passing Aki no koe The cracking of leaves Rain falling on a tin roof Wind rattling windows

Of these my favorite is Shuushoku. Autumn has always made me feel sad for the leaves that fall, and relating them to tears is a perfect description. Well done, Stephen.
