A Heart and a Sledge Hammer

Let's think this over as if there's anything to say
Push me to the level that makes you feel superior
God forbid you realize how low you really are

Let's be careful, don't want to offend your delicate ears
Push me away so you can fly away into your imaginary sunrise
God forbid you fall and find out your world's the same as mine

Let's watch this boil over into a glare of hateful silence
Push me into a frightful state of cold and longing
God forbid you listen to your own words and understand my amusement

Let's take a second to let this sink in
Push me into your mind, I’m only here to provide ambient noise
God forbid your ego face reality and see the ugliness that reflects back at you

Let's think this over as if there's anything to say
Push me away and see the truth is not a fairy tale set in a world of pink and bubbles
God forbid the earth revolve around the sun and ignore you, because it likes to be bright
and warm

Let's take a second, maybe two, I don't want to lose you
Push me all you want, I won't move just because you snap your fingers
God forbid anyone think you're worth anything close to the price your pride displays

Let's take a moment because I haven't made my point yet
Egotistical identity defined by a relationship with a man who resembles the passage of
defecation
Your so-called intelligence is not without a sense of desperation
He's nothing, you're nothing, and nothing's all you'll ever be
God forbid you wake up from your dream and see that you're all alone

You're nothing...you're nothing
And nothing's all you'll ever be
Let's think this over as if there's anything to say
