A Graceless Sailor

Inverted into berth
back to the coast
braced by a breeze
with hurricane fury
we cluster in the crevices
stroll on shattered shards
return to the abyssal realm
at last able to sail free.

The fog is currently lifting
we're floating out to sea
utters crow cries on its perch
will assist us in steer
astride of a mermaid
out in turbulent seas
calling me constantly
once again at home.

Wood composes my limb
my body has aged
ages oxidized the skin
sailing by themselves
carry me, carry me
from water that freezes
return to my family
shielded from the ocean.

Lay down my body
cover me with satin
lost their zenith
with the azure, rolling sea
perform each step again
conjure me back to my bed
once again, at home
to at last find peace.

As always this is a poem that depicts wisdom within and life and journey through changes and more in the most philosophical manner! Your use of metaphors and poetic techniques such as alliterations and more truly stands out for me and i love your wordplay as always! Just impeccable! Especially loved the lines “ will assist us in steer astride of a mermaid out in turbulent seas calling me constantly once again at home.“ whoa! That stood out for me and is so beautiful how you phrase thoughts! BOL

A deep quest about how why and where and when does the world revolve and what for and how do we humans fit in. Questions of depth out in the tutbulent sea, astride a mermaid constantly calling you to return to your family. so you can at last find peace at home, in your own bed. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

Hey big guy, your poem opens with imagery of being "inverted into berth," suggesting a turning point or transition. It describes a voyage back to the coast, symbolizing a return to familiar territory after facing life's storms and challenges. The journey becomes a metaphor for personal growth and transformation... It captures the universal themes of journey, aging, mortality, and the quest for inner peace. Through its imagery it invites readers to contemplate the complexities of human existence.

Master Sotto, your poems are impressive, whether in free verse or in rhymes. I guess the return to home conceals a hidden meaning and refers to the divine home whence we come and we all have to return as we are temporary travellers sent on earth to purify our soul. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.
