A Good Perspective

As a child, he used to think…. What if I had no friends? What if I never knew the meaning of Christmas? What if I knew nothing of “world without end?” What if I had no heart? What if I knew life’s ending, but not its start? What if I grow up, and never find love? What if I never get the chance to live up above? As a man, he began to think…. This all isn’t so bad. I’m blessed, and highly favored…. The best feeling I’ve ever had. My good days override all my bad days…. No reason to complain. I have a good life, I have a loving wife…. I’m living in this world with no stress, nor strain. As an old man, he began to think…. I’m happy and content… Yet, I still ask myself to this day, Where, oh where has all the time went? Where are the memories? Where did they all go? We had so much fun when we were young. You with your silly and funny jokes…. Me with my unfiltered tongue. We’ve been up and down this road. Day after day. You’re the greatest person to walk into my life. And I’d have it no other way.
