A Fractured Reflection

In the mirror's cold embrace, a war of words ignite, One soul fractured, battling self, beneath the pale moonlight. The darkness snarls, a serpent's tongue, with venom in its hiss, "You're weak, pathetic, broken thing, a failure you will kiss." The light, a flicker in the storm, with voice both frail and brave, "We rise above the ashes, hope from despair we save." The darkness spits, a mocking laugh, "Hope? A childish dream! A fleeting ember, soon to fade, a cruel and hollow scheme." The light retorts, a teardrop falls, "Love's warmth will see us through, A gentle hand to hold us close, a promise ever true." The darkness scoffs, "Love's fickle heart, a fleeting, fragile thing, They'll see your scars, your brokenness, and cast you on the wing." The light persists, a trembling flame, "Though scars may mar our skin, We'll mend the cracks, and rise anew, a stronger soul within." The darkness roars, a thunderous rage, "Your fight is weak and small, Doomed to fall, to fade away, with nothing left at all." The light cries out, a defiant spark, "We fight each passing day, With every breath, we conquer fear, and find a brighter way." The battle rages, fierce and loud, a tempest in the night, Light and dark, in endless war, for dominance they fight. The mirror cracks, reflecting pain, a battle yet undecided, Who claims the victory in the end, forever will be hidden
