A Day Out of School - Oil Painting Contest
Sand squigging between their toes
Shorts rolled up to keep dry
They walk the shoreline for who knows
What tiny fish might swim by.
A crab maybe might grip a toe
Or a jellyfish might place a sting
Yet, the water looks too grey
Hope for something, anything!
To keep those little boys intense
A great way to spend a school out day
Sandwiches were of no significance
A happy day memory will always stay
A day at the seashore, where you tell secrets to
your best friend, you know he won't tell
Cos he revealed his secrets to you
called sharing thoughts, bad ones to dispel.
When your grown up such days will stick
in your memories of happy childhood times
Bring a smile maybe to weary lips
Seashore memories, when life was sublime.
